Q:  WHO ARE THE PLATTERS?

A:  The Platters are a Diamond, Multiplatinum, Rock & Roll, Grammy, and Vocal Group Hall of Fame Artist, founded and named by Herb Reed in 1953, that crashed through the racial and gender divides that existed in the United States; paving the way for them to become one of the preeminent vocal groups of all time.  For more information about our history please click on the ABOUT tab above.

 

Q:  ARE ANY OF THE "ORIGINAL MEMBERS" STILL LIVING?

A:  With the death of founding member (Herb Reed) in 2012, all of the original members (Cornell Gunther, Joe Jefferson, and Alex Hodge) have now passed on.  Please visit our ABOUT page for more details.

 

Q:  ARE YOU THE "REAL" PLATTERS?

A:  All rights to The Platters name have been consolidated into Herb Reed Enterprises, LLC, which is listed on the principal register with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Registration Number 5,001,469.  If you see the famous registration mark ® after the name in all forms of visual media then you know you’re experiencing the authentic vocal group.

  

Q:  ARE THERE MULTIPLE THE PLATTERS GROUPS?

A:   There is and only has been ONE legally authorized "The Platters" vocal group performing around the world since 1953, and we’re it!

Q:  WHERE CAN I BUY YOUR MERCHANDISE?

A:  Merchandise is available for purchase only at our shows.  However, we will soon be launching a store on our website.

 

Q:  WHERE DO YOU REHEARSE?

A:  Our home office is located in Boston, Massachusetts.  We meet there for rehearsals.
